The town of Maras is a small town located on the outskirts of Urubamba, 1 hour away from the city of Cusco, here you will find 2 of the most visited archaeological centers; the platforms of Moray and Salt Mines

The Moray platforms are located, 7 km from the Maras district, and are made up of 3 holes; 2 small and one large, the big one is the busy since it has 16 built platforms and each has different microclimates so it is considered to be used as an agricultural laboratory.

Maras salt mines, are a set of small holes that were built to store salt water that filters from a manant, this water is distributed in each of them so that with the action of the sun can evaporate and solidify and then be extracted.

The extracted salt is very used in the kitchen to prepare a meat on the grille, also with this salt can be made medicinal baths.

Sacred Valley of the Incas.

The sacred valley of the Incas, in the Inca period had an important role, since it was carried out great constructions like the archaeological center of Pisaq and Ollantaytambo, and is known to be the best producer of white maize, which are exported to countries abroad.

The sacred valley is surrounded by mountain and snowy chains between the most important Veronica and Pitusiray, and is considered the main access point to Machu Picchu and the jungle.

Andahuaylillas Temple: The Church of San Pedro Apostle of Andahuaylillas known as “The Sistine Chapel of America”, is Architecture is one of the most amazing and beautiful religious expressions of religious art.


Itinerary

Day 1

Reception Airport / City Tour Cusco

Upon arrival at Cusco airport our partners will be waiting for you, in order to pick up you and transfer you to the selected hotel in Cusco.

Depending on the time of the hotel’s Check Inn we can take a short break before the city tour starts.

At the time indicated by our Responsible Guide, we will start the city tour visiting first the Plaza de Armas of Cusco, from here we move through the cobbled streets toward the Qoricancha temple,

We will have a guided visit of the Qoricancha Temple and know the importance of this religious precinct of the Incas that is currently built the Temple of Santo Domingo.

At the end of the visit we will continue in private mobility to the 4 archaeological parks of Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Pucapucara and Tambomachay, we will know the importance that each of them had in the Inca era, Of all the most important is the archaeological park of Sacsayhuaman where the stage of the Inti Raymi takes place.

At the end of the tour we will return to our Hotel in Cusco – Free Night.

Day 2

South Valley Tours

To hours 8:30 am approx. Together with our Guide we will address our mobility in order to be able to travel to the southern part of Cusco.

We will visit the archaeological center of Tipon, which is located 40 minutes from Cusco, formed by platforms and a hydraulic system built in the Inca era.

Then visit the archaeological center of Piquillacta, known as the first urban center of the pre-Inca period, which has a well planned construction, here you can see construction in mud and lined with Yeso.

Continuing we will move toward the temple of Andahuaylillas, known as the Sistine Chapel of America, built to evangelize the peoples.

At the end we will return to the city of Cusco, arrival approximately 14:30 pm

Day 3

Tour Maras Moray Salt Mines.

At hours 8:30 am to 9:00 am, we will pass by your accommodation for your pick-up.

At 9:00 am we will be leaving Cusco to Chinchero, where we will make a brief stop to visit its artisan market which is very famous.

We then continue our journey to Moray’s platforms, where we will have a 40-minute visit with our guide, who will talk to us about the importance of this archaeological center.

At the end we will continue the journey back to Maras to be able to head toward the Salt Mines, in the place we will have a 40-minute visit with our guide who will explain to us the importance that this place had since the Inca times.

At the end we will return to the city of Cusco, arriving approximately 2:30 p.m.

Day 4

Tour Sacred Valley of the Incas.

At 7:00 am, our guide will transfer you to your hotel so you can pick them up and head for our sightseeing transportation, to take the Route to the Sacred Valley of the Incas.

On the way our guide will explain to us about the history of the city of Cusco and the importance of the sacred valley of the Incas.

Our first visit will be to the Taray viewpoint., from where the beauty of the Sacred Valley of the Incas is appreciated, continuing we will visit the Archaeological Center of Pisaq, which is well known for the construction of its agricultural platforms on the slopes of the hill.

At the end we will return to the village of Pisaq in order to visit a workshop of Plateria, in Pisaq are the best artisans.

Continuing our journey, we will continue until we reach Urubamba the capital of the Sacred Valley, where we will be able to have lunch and take a brief rest.

After lunch we will continue our journey to Ollantaytambo, the living Inca city, because much of the present population maintains Inca construction.

After the visit of Ollantaytambo, according to our program we will take the train that will transfer us to Machu Picchu Pueblo in a journey 2 hours.

Day 5

Machupicchu Tour

After Breakfast and at the time indicated by our guide, we will head to the bus station to board and board the entrance gate of Machu Picchu.

It will be a journey of about 40 minutes of journey along a zigzag path toward the citadel, upon arrival our guide awaits us to start our guided tour of the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu.

We will have a tour of approximately 3 hours, where our guide will explain the most important facts of the citadel, as we will be able to take the best souvenir photos.

At the end of the tour we will return to the entrance gate to reboard the bus that transfers us back to Machu Pichu Pueblo.

According to the departure time of our train, 30 minutes before we will be presented at the station to board and travel to Ollantaytambo, where our transfer awaits us to transfer us to the hotel of Cusco.

Transfer hotel – Cusco Airport
